He was born in Mount Kisco on Oct. 7, 1994 to Gordon R. and Leslie M. Quimby.
He was a medically fragile special needs young man with a heart of love who touched the lives of countless individuals, according to his obituary.
He graduated from Pines Bridge BOCES School in Yorktown in 2016 and attended Ability Beyond NY Day Program at Chappaqua Crossing since his graduation.
He was a member of the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church where he was active part of the church family.
Christopher loved people and some of his favorite activities were passing the peace at church, learning about insects and other science-related subjects, showing off his Halloween costumes and meeting up with his special friend, Jess, for long walks on the bike path, according to his obituary.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandmothers, Sharon L. MacCartney of Peterborough, NH, and Barbara (Hardy Quimby) Gatto of Somers, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was also much beloved by the many nurses, doctors, therapists and teachers who helped to care for him and enrich his life – and he loved them too, according to his obituary.
He was predeceased by his older sister, Sarah, and his grandparents Warren S. and Elizabeth A.R. Quimby, formerly of Larchmont and Slingerlands, NY; Louis M. MacCartney, formerly of Pleasantville, and Ronald Gatto.
A celebration of Christopher’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at Pleasantville Presbyterian Church, 400 Bedford Rd., Pleasantville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 30 Gramercy Pl., Thornwood, NY 10594, the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church, or Ability Beyond, 480 Bedford Road, Chappaqua, NY 10514.
